Transition with Me!
Fashion is hard when it comes to summer-to-fall transitions.
Throw a hurricane in there and things just got a whole lot harder. For anyone affected by Hurricane Harvey – you are in our thoughts and prayers this week, as I know we’re all hoping this storm quickly fizzles out. Isn’t it crazy how everything can change so suddenly? And in this case – because of weather? The rain hasn’t stopped here in Austin and Chloe and I have found ourselves bundling up to a cozy couple of days in. Rest is top of mind over here after an extremely busy busy busy New York City trip and playing catch-up here in Austin immediately after. It’s been a physically and mentally draining week and sometimes I have to give myself pep talks to get back into a restful state of mind (who else is with me on that?). Sidenote: Big shout out to everyone who reached out about what I witnessed on my last day in New York City.
But enough about the weather – phew – we’ve been hearing it all weekend. Back to outfitting … because again, fashion is hard when it comes to transitions. When fashion gets hard and weird (do we wear sweaters or tank tops or cut-offs or culottes?), my first instinct is simply to just get down to the basics: comfort. That’s not hard to do in a city as casual as Austin, as we are quick to pull out our favorite tees and jeans. Today I’ve partnered with my favorite comfy-cool-casual-chic wear destination: Nordstrom, to talk what I’m wearing in these stages of transition. To stay trendy, I’ve pulled out these distressed denim darlings by Leith (such a great price and so comfy) and matched it with my favorite 3 comfy-cozy summer-appropriate and fall-ready tees. This tee by Nordstrom is my top-selling product for August and the soft-to-touch and laid-back vibe is why it’s flying off the racks. I’ve also linked this striped peplum darling (that price tag tho! also crazy soft) and a favorite slouchy Free People tee. You’ve heard it here a million times before: softness, comfort, confidence. You know the drill.
You can find all these must-have basics for transitioning your summer wardrobe at Nordstrom. I’ve been covering a lot of these types of outfits on Instagram lately, so you can also follow along my Instagram account for more cozy-chic casual looks. XOXO
Thank you, Nordstrom, for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
Love it!

What great looks! My favorite is that charcoal tee with the cardigan. Nothing beats a comfy little tee for instant cuteness and comfort.

This period in between summer and fall is so awkward for me when it comes to fashion…I never know what the perfect balance is in between tanks with shorts and chunky knits with lots of layers! This post had some great ideas…my favorite is the look with the knotted tee! So effortless, casual and cute.

Omg… So I bought that grey sweatshirt after I seen how cute it was on you, and its soooo darn big. I think I need an extra small! It was floating on me and my husband said, “negative ghost rider!” 🙁 I was so sad!!! It looks so cute on you!
Omg oh no! It does have such a big relaxed fit. Free People does that sometimes! Bummer! XOOX Jessi
