In my book, summer is all about getting away, taking vacations, and exploring the unknown. Since I am so incredibly busy just about any other time of the year, summer really is the only time to explore. Thus, I thought it was fitting to outfit myself in the most touristy ensemble possible, while still looking chic and staying cozy (of course two crucial factors in everyday dress).
I was in San Antonio this past weekend, and snapped this number before heading out to the Texas Alamo for a quick history-fix and to the River Walk for a brunch filled with delicious food and lots of people watching. Of course, it was crucial to bring my camera with me, which is everyone’s #1 tourist essential, right? Following it, are my new Kate Spade Hutton pants, which I feel like I could live in 24/7 (and confession: maybe I already do). They’re those kind of pants that you do just about anything in–wrinkle-free, with no tight-fitting boundaries or barriers. I’m definitely wear these Kate Spade pantalons on the plane to France; they’re just that comfortable!
Kimonos are also the right summer go-to because of their light-weight fabric, loose-fitting feel, and cool and airy characteristics. Plus don’t they just look like the ultimate tourist shirt? This ASOS kimono I’m showcasing is already sold out, but try some other of my favorite suggestions by clicking the thumbnails below. Oh and these shoes! This really is a tale of the traveling shoes, considering I take and wear these kicks anywhere and everywhere. They’re great walking heels and just so stylish (seriously, they make any outfit look good)! After this quick shoot for my touristic ensemble and a touring of the Alamo, plus a delish lunch on the River Walk, we stopped in for an ice cream at a small local café. Because honestly, what is a tourist without a camera in one hand and an ice cream in the other?
