It’s 92 degrees in Austin today.
When Texas officially becomes a seeming-like never-ending oven, there are 3 things I consistently crave:
- Water – lots of it!
- Sundresses – comfortable, cool, easy breezy sundresses. right?
- The weekend – what is it about the heat that just simply drains you of your weekday energy?!
Water, sundresses, the weekend…who’s with me?! I’m super excited to partner with Nordstrom to talk easy-breezy summer wear: and when it comes to dressing casual, cool and chic for the summa, my go-to brand is…. obvi-ous-ly Free People. The lightweight fabrics, slouchy silhouettes and laid-back designs are the quintessential style icons for a casual summer in Austin. This adorable little sundress was the perfect embellishment for a warm day at South Congress hotel:: an Austin gal-about-town’s destination for turquoise waters and retro-chic vibes. If you guys aren’t from Austin, you must stop by the iconic hotel located on the famous South Congress. I was elated to find out they sell Summer Day pool passes, so any Austinite (even if you’re not staying at the hotel!) can relax all day poolside.
I spent the day in the sweetest Free People dress (the reviews on Nordstrom are correct, this dress is a total classic keeper) with floral embellishments and a scalloped trim. This darling little frock is the perfect little throw-on weekend number, specializing in vacays and pool days. And it happens to be 40% off right now! Another fun Free People fact? A lot of you girls ask me about my favorite intimate pieces for summer dressing, and Free People carries both of them! My favorite strapless bras being this one and this one by Free People. Last, but certainly not least, my favorite summer white tee: found here at Nordstrom.
When it comes to summer shoes, I’ve been darling to these wedges (they elongate your legs, babes!). Minimal accessories are always a good idea.
PS – do you like the new redesign? Many thanks to those of you who reached out! XOXO
