It’s the most wonderful time of the year [to get beautified].
And if you’ve read my skincare post – you know I try to go somewhat light on the beauty products. *But* it’s the holidays and dark shadows, fun lips, sparkly palettes and glitter-y ensembles are just begging to be painted on that beautiful face of yours. What did I do? I partnered with Ulta Beauty this holiday season to chat holiday makeup – the ones that transition from look-to-look, the perfect eye shadow palette gift ideas, and all of my current must-have favorites at Ulta. Whether you’re shopping for yourself – or you’re shopping for someone else, this holiday beauty post has got your beautified needs in check. I’ve separated my favorites into 3 categories: lips, eyes, and face. 1-2-3, beauties.
FOR THOSE MISTLETOE SMOOCHES:
My favorite lip-plumping-matted lipstick. Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick by Buxom in Sinful Cinnamon. I’m wearing this lipstick color in every single photo above, and I love how effortlessly it transitions from look to look. Plus – this matted darling has a tingling plumping effect, making those pouted lips extra poppin’. Shop it here.
A luscious gloss that adds a tingly sparkle and shine. Clearly I’m into lip-plumping this season, just because full, luscious lips are of the season. You can use the Buxom Full-on Lip Cream (in Mudslide (petal pink)) or Buxom Full-On Lip Polish (in Brooke (sunburnt rose)) to add a lip-plumping sparkle and shine to the above lipstick. However, this is not totally necessary. The lipstick above is just as beautiful matted on its own.
A lip pencil to outline those lips. Simple, basic, and always a favorite – the MAC lip pencil (in Boldly Bare) is the pencil I swear by.
FOR THOSE TWINKLING EYES:
The eye shadow palette that will warm your heart. (GIFT IDEA!) My favorite palette I found at Ulta provides long-lasting shadows, and the most beautiful warm colors and hues. This would be my #1 gifting recommendation – as a Tartelette Eye Shadow Palette is always a good idea.
The shadow palette made for the au-natural girl. (GIFT IDEA!) Mac eye shadows? A total staple? Yep- you heard it here; MAC is an eye shadow favorite I’ve been wearing since high school and this one come with 15 eyeshadows in the most neutral colors around. This MAC 15x Shadow Palette darling will get the most everyday use, loaded with a million “in the flesh” colors.
The best gift you could give those gorgeous eyes. And your lashes will thank you later. Want extension looking au natural lashes? Enter Lancome’s epic drama lash magical duo. First apply the Mascara Primer; wait 30 seconds, then apply the Hypnose Drama Full Volume Mascara.
An undereye concealer that will last all night under the NYE disco ball. Enter the Double Duty Shape Tape Concealer by Tarte. This full coverage concealer really does act just as the name sounds, shaping and taping. I wear Light Medium or Light Medium Honey and swear by this baby.
FOR THOSE ROSY CHEEKS:
The powder that will keep you dancin’, sippin’, and perfectly set all night long. I’ve struggled with skin issues my entire life, and the Matte Powder Foundation by BAREminerals has been quite the miracle worker when it comes to this darling’s skin. So goodbye to shine this holiday season, + the recommended brush is a great investment too.
The key to your giftee’s heart; a heart-shaped blush that will have her head over heels. (GIFT IDEA!) The packaging of this heart-shaped flush blush by Too Faced definitely has captured my heart – making it one of my favorite gift ideas around. Plus – the colors are to die for, and fit lots of skin tones. Find the sweetheart blush here.
The bronzer that will last from season to season. Talk about staples! MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Give Me Sun is a favorite bronzer for all-year-round wear. It’s sans the sparkles, so it gives a flawless matted look to any season or occasion.
I hope this guide is helpful to all my holiday-beauty gurus. If you’re loving what I’m wearing – check the thumbnails below and keep scrolling to find the outfit pieces. XOXO
